A man lost his life, and a woman is in critical condition following a car crash with a tree on Jerome Avenue near the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
At 3:20 a.m. on November 12, a 911 call brought police officers from the 50th Precinct to a long stretch of roadway on Jerome Avenue, situated between Bainbridge Avenue and East 233 Street on the Norwood – Woodlawn Heights border.
According to a police official, a 2022 Honda Odyssey driven by an unidentified male was heading northbound on Jerome Avenue when it crashed into a tree. The initial investigation revealed that the driver failed to navigate the road properly, leading to the accident.
Jonathan Ramos-Robles, who was 30 years old and lived in the nearby Dekalb Avenue, has been identified as the victim by the police. According to officials, a 42-year-old woman is currently in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.
The NYPD’s Crash Investigation Squad is still probing the reason behind the crash.
