Wagswoofs – According to authorities, a fatal crash occurred outside of John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday afternoon which resulted in the death of a woman riding in a Tesla.
Officials reported that there was a vehicle collision at the intersection of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard in Brookville and the police responded to a 911 call just before 2 p.m.
The NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad conducted a thorough investigation and found that a 52-year-old man was driving a black 2023 Tesla Model Y SUV eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard. The vehicle collided with the rear of a gray 2010 Ford Fusion in the right lane near the intersection of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
As the Tesla approached the intersection, it collided with a stationary White 2002 International Utility Body Truck in the westbound lane of Rockaway Boulevard. The impact was severe and caused significant damage to both vehicles.
The 54-year-old front passenger of the Tesla was transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
The 52-year-old driver of the Tesla was transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.
Both the drivers of the Ford and the box truck were unharmed and stayed at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing.
