Authorities Find Remains of Man Missing Since 1995 in Dixie County

According to the weekly report by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), an investigation in Dixie County led to the discovery of the remains of a man from Alabama.

As per the report, the North Central Region dive team of FWC was aiding the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office in a death investigation at a boat ramp in Steinhatchee.

As the hurricane cleanup operations were underway, a team of workers stumbled upon some parts of a car near the end of a boat ramp. Upon further investigation, the dive team was able to locate and retrieve the vehicle, which led to the discovery of human remains. It was later revealed that the remains were linked to an Alabama man who had gone missing back in 1995 when he was visiting the area.

According to the FWC, this finding brings a sense of closure to the family who, for 28 years, had no knowledge about their missing loved one.
