As per the report by WPTV, an NBC6 affiliate, a 12-year-old boy from Wellington saved a drowning man after learning CPR from an episode of “Stranger Things”. The incident took place on Saturday around 4 p.m. when the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls from the Summerfield subdivision in Riverview, prompting an immediate response.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered a 14-year-old who was repeatedly brandishing a firearm at his own head, according to Chronister. Following a 16-minute negotiation, deputies discharged a non-lethal round and successfully apprehended the teenager.
On Monday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam footage capturing the tense moment when a teenager approached police officers with their guns drawn. Despite the authorities’ repeated requests to lower his weapon and surrender, the boy continued to advance towards them.
According to officials, a tragic incident occurred in Florida where a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting and killing his own mother.
As captured by the deputy’s bodycam, he pleaded with the individual, “Bro, I don’t want to harm you. I have no intention of shooting you. Please put it down. Trust me, this is not how it has to end. No matter what happened today, it can be resolved. Please, don’t pull the trigger.”
As the deputy guided the boy through each step to bring him into custody, his screams echoed in the distance.
Family members have identified 39-year-old Tiffany Harris as the mother killed in the Riverview shooting, as reported by NBC6 affiliate WFLA.
The teenager is currently facing a number of serious felony charges, which include second-degree murder with a weapon, attempted first-degree murder, premeditated use of a firearm, firing a weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the sheriff, the teenager had not been involved in any criminal activities before this incident.
Chronister expressed the harrowing reality of the situation, stating that the scene behind him was something straight out of a nightmare. He went on to mention that the 14-year-old boy involved in the incident would never have the opportunity to experience life outside of a detention facility.
