Wagswoofs – A clever duo of burglars broke into a residence in Queens and managed to steal a whopping $174,000 worth of cash, jewelry, and handbags, according to authorities.
Earlier this month, a bold daytime break-in occurred, and the NYPD recently shared an image from surveillance video depicting the suspected getaway driver of the bandits.
According to the police, on December 4th at around 10:15 am, two unidentified criminals used “unknown tools” to break the locked front door of an apartment near 136th Street and Booth Memorial Avenue in Queensboro Hill.
According to The Post, law enforcement sources have revealed that the pair went on to thoroughly search the house, making off with a staggering $130,000 in cash. In addition, they also managed to grab hold of valuable items such as jewelry and handbags, which were estimated to be worth around $44,000.
According to the police, the burglars made their escape from the burgled house in a gray SUV, driven by an accomplice, carrying their stolen goods with them.
In the video footage, the suspected getaway driver can be seen wearing a black shirt adorned with a prominent “Lacoste” logo on the front.
No arrests have been made and the suspects have not been publicly identified.
The NYPD has released a screenshot of the surveillance video and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver believed to be involved.
