California Man Accused Of 2001 Gang-related Killings Of Young Father And Toddler Daughter

Wagswoofs –  Over twenty years ago, a young father and his three-year-old daughter were caught in the crossfire of gang violence in front of their grandmother’s house. Recently, a man from California has been charged in connection with their murders. The senseless tragedy has haunted the family for decades.

“Quant,” also known as Jahon Terez Smith, is facing charges in connection with several shootings that occurred in 2001. The shootings resulted in the tragic deaths of Stephen Murphy and his daughter Kali, as well as injuries to two other individuals. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced these charges in a news release. Smith, who is 48 years old, is charged with two counts of murder and four counts of attempted willful, deliberate, and premeditated attempted murder. These charges come with special circumstances related to multiple murders and the use of a handgun.

On October 30, Smith was imprisoned without the possibility of being released on bail. His arraignment date has been set for November 29. If found guilty on all counts, Smith may face a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
