Wagswoofs – On Friday, a former babysitter from Southern California was sentenced to over 700 years in prison for sexually assaulting 16 boys under his care over the course of the past decade. The man had been working as a babysitter for several years prior to his sentencing.
According to officials, Zakrzewski was a skilled manipulator who recorded the offenses he perpetrated from January 2014 to May 2019. He then instructed the children on how to deceive their parents about the inappropriate interactions they had with him. His tactics earned him the title of a “master manipulator.”
On May 17, 2019, Laguna Beach police took Zakrzewski into custody as soon as he landed from an international flight, putting an end to his crime spree.
The judge wasted no time in delivering a harsh sentence to Zakrzewski, convicting him of all 34 counts. The hefty punishment amounted to 705 years, in addition to two years and eight months.
In court, Zakrzewski heard impact statements from the family members of his victims before finding out his sentence. Despite this, he chose not to express remorse for his crimes when he read his statement.
According to the district attorney’s office, he stated that he took great pride in bringing happiness to your children and every moment that we spent together was completely authentic.
Zakrzewski relied on a website to secure babysitting jobs in the locality. He marketed himself as “the original Sitter Buddy” and identified himself as a “manny”. He advertised his services to include mentorships and “big brother” relationships, as well as overnights and vacations.
