Wagswoofs – A woman from California was arrested on Friday for the death of her 4-year-old daughter.
According to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was called to a report of a child being abused on Thursday at 11:09 p.m.
Deputies who arrived found a female youth unconscious in a car. After being taken to a nearby hospital, she was declared dead.
KABC reports that the child was Mia Gonzalez, who is 4 years old.
Maria Avalos, the victim’s 38-year-old mother, was arrested at the scene of the crime. Later, she was arrested on murder charges.
According to the Department of Medical Examiner, there was murder involved in the child’s death.
The medical report that the station got said that the person died from “combined effects of strangulation and sharp force.”
The cause of death is still being looked into, and on Tuesday, the case will be sent to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to be looked over.
