Cedar Rapids Man Arrested After Stalking And Explosives Investigation

Wagswoofs – The Cedar Rapids Police Department announced on Friday, December 15, 2023, that they have arrested Jared A. Hanson, a 36-year-old resident of Cedar Rapids. The arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into multiple complaints of stalking, burglary, and possession of explosives.

The arrest, as mentioned in the press release, occurred after an incident earlier in the week that required the CR Metro Hazardous Devices Unit to be called to the northeast side of the city.

Hanson was arrested on Thursday night during a routine traffic stop. He has been taken to the Linn County Correctional Center. The charges filed against him include Burglary in the 2nd degree, Violation of a No-Contact Order, Stalking, and Possession of an incendiary or explosive device with intent, as stated in the press release.
