Wagswoofs – Officials say that tenants were forced to leave their homes on Christmas morning because of a fire that erupted at an apartment in Kingsbridge.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. at a building located on 275 West 238th Street.
The FDNY took approximately an hour to bring the flames under control, indicating that the fire possibly originated from an object burning on the fifth floor.
According to the building’s super, it appears that only four out of the 72 units have been affected by the damage.
According to the FDNY, they provided treatment at the scene for one individual who experienced minor smoke inhalation.
the Red Cross has offered assistance to residents of the four affected apartments who require temporary accommodation.
