Former NBA Player Rajon Rondo Arrested In Indiana On Charges Related To Firearms And Drugs

Wagswoofs – Former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo was taken into custody this past weekend on misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana. The information was reported by WDRB-TV on Monday night, based on court records and a spokesperson from the Indiana State Police.

According to Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, an ISP spokesperson, Rondo, who is 37 years old, was stopped in Jackson County, Indiana, on Sunday afternoon due to a traffic violation. During the stop, a trooper detected the smell of marijuana.

According to Wheeles, authorities discovered a firearm and drug paraphernalia during the search. Rondo was subsequently transported to a jail in Jackson County, where he managed to post bail. It is worth noting that Rondo was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a no-contact order that was in effect against him.

In 2022, a woman filed an emergency protective order against Rondo, but it was later dismissed after the parties came to an agreement, as stated in a document obtained by ESPN.

Rajon Rondo spent 16 seasons in the NBA, with his last appearances being for the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021-22 season. Throughout his career, he achieved the impressive feat of being selected as an All-Star four times and winning the NBA championship twice.
