‘freak Accident’ Claims Man’s Life As He Gets Stuck In Cement Mixer Truck

Wagswoofs – Tragically, a man in New York City lost his life after being trapped inside a cement mixer truck.

According to reports from NBC affiliate WNBC-TV, The New York Daily News, and Norwood News, a tragic incident occurred on Monday at 1140 Grinnell Place in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx.

According to reports from WNBC-TV and Norwood News, emergency services were called around 1:30 p.m. local time to assist a worker who had become entangled in a construction vehicle on site.

According to the family of the victim, Francisco Lumbreras, as reported by the New York Daily News, he was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), as confirmed by WNBC-TV.

According to the outlet, the FDNY reported that an individual became entangled in the machinery and passed away.

The Norwood News reported that CNB Contracting Corp. occupies the commercial space located at 1140 Grinnell Place. The company specializes in a wide range of services including trucking, concrete and masonry work, excavation, sheet and pipe piling, underpinning, tiebacks, restoration of roads, asphalt milling, paving, and various types of utility work.

The company and FDNY have been contacted by PEOPLE for additional comments.

According to officials from the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), there were no ongoing construction operations at the site of the accident. They stated that the site was not classified as a construction site.

According to officials from the DOB, Lumbreras’ death occurred while he was in the process of cleaning a concrete truck. This information was reported by Norwood News following a preliminary investigation.
