Wagswoofs – At 1:50 a.m. on November 23, Rocco Rodden was taken to Bellevue Hospital after an incident outside Live Ax, an ax-throwing bar and lounge in SoHo. Unfortunately, he was later declared deceased.
The younger brother, who is 19 years old, is currently in stable condition at Bellevue hospital. He suffered from stab wounds to his torso.
Gianluca Bordone, who is 19 years old, has been charged by the NYPD with manslaughter and assault.
The authorities have not provided any details about the individual involved or the circumstances that led to the altercation at the intersection of Lafayette and White streets. Furthermore, law enforcement officials have not disclosed the type of weapon that was utilized during the incident.
Students and staff at St. Joseph’s Regional High School were provided with grief counseling and support services to help them cope with their loss. The school recognized the importance of addressing the emotional needs of those affected and made sure to provide the necessary resources.
According to a letter from St. Joe’s, the school day will commence on Monday with an assembly and a prayer service.
According to the statement, “Our community coming together in this gathering will allow us to support each other, reminisce about fond memories of Rocco, and find solace.”
As a member of the St. Joe’s football team, Rocco served as an offensive lineman during his junior year in the Class of 2025.
Vin Ferrara, a junior defensive lineman, expressed that Rodden was more than just a brother to him, but rather family since the beginning. Luke Henrich, a former quarterback for the Green Knights, shared that Rodden had a personality that could brighten up any room and bring energy wherever he went. Henrich added, “You were one of a kind, and there will always only be one ‘Cug’. See you on the other side kid. Love you forever Rocco❤️ #RIP #Cug”.
