Indy Man Hit And Killed By Concrete Block In Workplace Accident

Wagswoofs –  An Indianapolis man tragically lost his life on Monday in Whitestown when a concrete block fell on him during a workplace accident, according to police.

Capt. John Jurkash of the Whitestown Police Department reported that emergency personnel received a distress call at approximately noon on Monday regarding a severe injury at the Waste Management facility situated at 6251 S. Indianapolis Road.

When WPD and local fire crews arrived at the scene, they discovered a workplace accident involving a worker who had been struck by a several thousand-pound concrete block.

The worker, identified by police as Anthony Osby, a 44-year-old resident of Indianapolis, tragically lost his life as a result of a traumatic injury, according to EMS crews.

The death is currently being investigated by the Boone County Coroner’s Office, as confirmed in a recent social media post.

The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting a law enforcement investigation, while we are carrying out our own separate investigation to determine the cause and method of death. A forensic autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow.

Police have not yet provided any further details at this time. We are actively working to gather more information on this developing story.
