Long Island Felon Sentenced to 57 Months in Prison for Firearms Scheme

Wagswoofs  –  A firearm scheme on Long Island led to the sentencing of a Georgia man to 57 months in prison on Wednesday, according to authorities.

In May, Dennis Wolfolk, who is 30 years old, admitted to being a felon in possession of firearms. This was part of a bigger plan to buy and transport over 24 handguns unlawfully into New York.

In September of 2023, Patrick Polidore, who is 33 years old, admitted to making false statements to obtain firearms and is currently awaiting sentencing.

According to US Attorney Breon Peace, Wolfolk, a convicted felon, appeared in a federal courtroom due to his involvement in the gun trafficking ‘Iron Pipeline’ from Georgia to Long Island. Wolfolk’s blatant disregard for the law and serious criminal behavior led to the discovery of guns in the possession of juveniles, a parolee, criminals, and even at the scene of a murder. Today, he was rightfully punished for his actions.

From October to December of 2020, Polidore went to several federally licensed retailers in the Atlanta metropolitan region. During these visits, he acted as a straw purchaser for around 27 handguns. He purchased many of these firearms in quick succession on a few common dates.

According to officials, Polidore made fraudulent claims on ATF Forms 4473, stating that he was the rightful recipient of the firearms. However, in reality, he had colluded with Wolfolk, who was legally barred from owning a firearm due to his previous conviction, to smuggle the handguns to New York and sell them to local buyers.

Authorities have retrieved a minimum of 12 handguns that were transported by Wolfolk to New York and were used in various crime scenes in and around Long Island. Among the firearms that were part of the scheme, a Taurus 9mm model G3C handgun, which was purchased by Polidore on November 23, 2020, was also seized after it was found in the possession of criminals.
