Wagswoofs – According to the authorities, a male suspect has been taken into custody for the murder of his girlfriend and her 26-year-old son in their Brooklyn residence over the weekend. The shootings resulted in the tragic deaths of both victims.
According to the NYPD, Luis Collado, aged 52, was charged with two counts of murder on Saturday for reportedly shooting Rosa Acevedo, aged 43, and her son Gustavo Devora Acevedo in East New York.
According to authorities, the mother passed away at the scene, and her son later succumbed to his injuries at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center on Saturday.
Authorities detained Collado for questioning immediately after the shooting incident. The investigators found a firearm at the victims’ residence, which prompted the authorities to take him into custody.
Collado faces charges of two counts of murder, as well as attempted murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The NYPD has stated that the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing, therefore the cause of the incident is yet to be determined.
Two other shootings happened in Brooklyn on Friday night, just hours before the Acevedos’ murders.
According to authorities, gunshots rang out in front of 445 Pulaski St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, resulting in the death of a 64-year-old man around 9:40 p.m.
According to authorities, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the back at around 7:45 p.m. on Jerome Street and New Lots Avenue in Cypress Hill.
According to police, the teenager was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
