Wagswoofs – A man has been taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting that occurred in Northeast D.C. on Sunday morning. This news was confirmed by the department.
According to MPD, they received a report of gunshots around 2:40 a.m. and immediately responded to the scene. The police were led to the 700 block of 16th Street, Northeast, where they discovered a man who had been shot while inside his car.
Kelvin Hamlett, a 41-year-old resident of Southwest, D.C., was identified as the victim who tragically passed away at the scene.
Police have arrested and charged 46-year-old John Dickens, II, who has no fixed address, with Second Degree Murder while Armed. Dickens is the prime suspect in the case.
