Man Found Shot Dead In Front Yard Of Residence After KCPD Responds To Reports Of Gunshots

Wagswoofs – The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the events that led up to a shooting resulting in a fatality that occurred during Monday night.

At around 4 p.m., the incident occurred on Jackson Avenue and East 56th Street.

While patrolling the area, KCPD officers were alerted by the sound of gunshots coming from the east. Responding promptly, they headed towards the direction of the shots. Meanwhile, dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting the same incident.

When the officers reached the site of the shooting, they discovered an unconscious man in the front yard of a residence. They immediately provided emergency assistance until medical professionals arrived and transported him to the hospital. However, the man passed away later at the hospital.

KCPD officials state that the area is currently being combed by detectives and crime scene personnel in search of potential evidence and witnesses who may hold valuable information regarding the events leading up to the shooting.
