Wagswoofs – After using a stolen police vehicle to run errands in Northwest DC, Daniel Gladden found himself in the back of a cruiser instead of the front, almost a week later.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Gladden has been apprehended and accused of stealing from a motor vehicle and theft. This comes after he boldly took a police vehicle from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) campus just a few days prior.
According to the police, Gladden allegedly stole the UDC truck at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. Surveillance cameras captured footage of him using the vehicle to run errands and go on a brief shopping spree. However, his joyride came to an end when he was apprehended on Wednesday afternoon.
As shown in the video, the man browses through a nearby department store, grabs a pack of paper towels, an appliance, and a bottle of laundry detergent. He then exits the store with ease and proceeds to load up the stolen truck before driving away nonchalantly.
The department did not release any details about Galdden’s first court appearance.
