Wagswoofs – Police say a driver fought off a group of armed men who tried to steal his car at a gas station in East Memphis. Twenty minutes later, the same men robbed him at a gas station in Parkway Village.
According to the police, the incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday at a Z Market on Rhodes Avenue. The victim was approached by three armed men in a black Chevrolet Malibu who attempted to carjack his vehicle. Although the man was assaulted, he was able to successfully retain possession of his car.
At 3:10, the victim reported to the police that he was at the gas pumps of a different Z Market located approximately three miles away on South Perkins. He mentioned that he was approached by the same suspects once again. During this encounter, one of the robbers managed to steal his wallet.
On Monday, the MPD released surveillance photos of three suspects.
In the surveillance video, you can witness one of the suspects swiftly exiting the passenger side of the Malibu, gripping a firearm tightly in his hand. The police were fortunate to obtain a clear view of the license plate, revealing that the car had been stolen from Semmes Street a few days prior.

According to the police, there is evidence from video surveillance that shows the same suspects robbing another individual on South Perkins. However, this particular incident was not reported to the authorities.
