Wagswoofs – The department made an announcement just a few hours after releasing a photo of the alleged carjacker. They declared that a 12-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with armed carjacking. The officer had opened fire during the commission of the crime, prompting the young suspect to flee.
The Metropolitan Police Department recently confirmed that the individual who lost their life during a carjacking gone awry on Saturday night was Toney. Alongside another minor (depicted in the above photo), Toney was involved in the incident.
Around 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th, there were reports of a juvenile down with gunshot wounds in the 600 block of D Street NW.
The officer was approached by Toney and another individual while he was waiting in his car for his shift to begin, as per a statement from a department spokesperson. The second person had his hand in his pocket, indicating that he might be carrying a handgun.
Paramedics rushed Toney to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. As per the officials, the gun used in the shooting was legally owned by the officer, who is cooperating with the investigation.
