Wagswoofs – The Montgomery County Department of Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted man who is suspected of fatally shooting someone outside a popular restaurant earlier this month.
Photos of Markus Tyrelle Dowdy, 33, have been released by investigators, who suspect his involvement in the fatal shooting of Marvin Jefferson, a 34-year-old resident of Silver Spring, at the America’s Best Wings restaurant.
On Saturday, November 4th, a shooting was reported at the White Oak Shopping Plaza, located in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Colesville.
Shortly before 6 p.m. on the night of the shooting, Montgomery County Department of Police officers responded to a call at the restaurant. Upon arrival, they discovered Jefferson and another individual shot. Jefferson was found outside the building, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Jefferson tragically lost his life after being rushed to the hospital, while the second victim sustained serious, yet non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
Police reported that Jefferson and Dowdy were involved in a confrontation that escalated into a deadly shooting. Dowdy fled the scene and is still at large as of Friday, Nov. 17.
According to the authorities, Dowdy stands at 5’9″ and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on his neck and right cheek.
The authorities have stated that he should be regarded as a potential threat, as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
