Wagswoofs – On Thursday morning, a tragic incident occurred as a Rochester City School District teacher lost her life in a one-car crash while driving to work.
According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, a deer entered the roadway from the east just after 7 a.m. while Judith A. Purdy, 58, of Le Roy, Genesee County, was driving north on Route 19. Sadly, the sedan she was driving collided with the deer.
Deputies reported that Purdy was declared deceased at the location.
According to officials from the Rochester City School District, Purdy had been a dedicated teacher at the district for over two decades, with his most recent position being at Abraham Lincoln School No. 22 located at 595 Upper Falls Blvd in Rochester.
According to the statement, she was a compassionate and thoughtful individual, and her students and colleagues held her in high regard. Her contributions to the district will leave a lasting impression, and her absence will be felt deeply.
