St. Louis Man Sentenced To 20 Years For Having More Than 31 Pounds Of Methamphetamine

Wagswoofs  –  A 56-year-old man residing in St. Louis, Missouri, has been handed a 20-year federal prison sentence without parole as of December 22. Cregg L. Matthews was apprehended at a Kansas City bus station after being discovered with over 31 pounds of methamphetamine in his luggage. On June 6, 2023, he was convicted for the possession and intent to distribute narcotics.

On March 9, 2019, investigators received a tip regarding Matthews, who was expected to arrive in Kansas City by bus from California, allegedly carrying a significant quantity of meth. Upon his arrival, the K9 unit detected drugs in both Matthews’ suitcase and a black bag that he was carrying.

Matthews had been freed from parole a year before he committed this federal crime. He had been convicted of drug crimes and statutory rape before. He also got into a fight in jail while he was being held before his hearing.
