Suspect In Plainfield Double-homicide Case Arrested After 1 Year In Massachusetts

Wagswoofs –  A suspect in the Plainfield double-homicide case from September 2022 was apprehended on Wednesday in Pittsfield, MA.

According to the Plainfield Police Department, Dalonny Rodgers, 29, is facing charges of two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. Rodgers was involved in a shooting incident at the Whitehouse Motel which resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 34-year-old Jose Rolando Castaneda and 52-year-old Alfredo Garcia, both from Texas.

A resident of Indianapolis named Rodgers was apprehended by the Pittsfield Police Department following their probe into a case of stolen vehicle. Rodgers faced multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, providing false identification, and possession of marijuana.

Rodgers will be facing additional charges before being extradited to Indiana.

Plainfield Police Chief Kyle Prewitt expressed his satisfaction with the arrest of the suspect and the progress made in the case. He stated, “We are pleased to have this suspect in custody and to be moving forward to the next phase of the investigation. We strongly believe that the outcome of this case will bring justice to the victims, their families, and our community.”

“We will ensure that individuals who engage in acts of violence are held fully accountable under the law.”
