Wagswoofs – Authorities in Washington DC have reported that a 14-year-old boy was allegedly shot and killed by a teenager, who then boasted about the incident on an Instagram livestream.
According to the Metropolitan Police, 14-year-old Niko Estep was allegedly shot and killed by 17-year-old Lorenzo Thompson on November 3 while his mother was standing nearby.
According to court records filed on November 10, just three days following the deadly shooting, Mr. Thompson was allegedly “bragging” about the incident on social media. The prosecution claimed that he showed “no remorse during this broadcast and it appears that he is celebrating with others.”
According to detectives, Mr. Thompson allegedly uttered the words “Got him” during the Instagram Live. He now faces charges of second-degree murder while armed, as he is accused of firing a dozen shots within a mere seven seconds.
According to court records, investigators have concluded that the suspect used a 9mm semi-automatic firearm to carry out the killing. They discovered a 9mm magazine inside a backpack in the suspect’s bedroom, indicating that this was likely the weapon used in the crime. However, the gun itself has not yet been located.
According to the affidavit in the case, the suspect was caught on surveillance footage pointing a gun at the victim while a woman watched him from just a few feet away. Prosecutors have claimed that the woman has been identified as his mother.
The Metropolitan Police have reported that another young boy was wounded in the shooting incident but fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Mark your calendars for January 2, 2024, as that is the date of the upcoming court hearing.
