Wagswoofs – Two women were apprehended on Monday by the authorities for allegedly pilfering sunglasses valued at over $1,000 from a Sunglass Hut establishment located on Long Island.
According to investigators, Lakeisha Mason, 33, and Kendra Patrick, 44, were apprehended for shoplifting sunglasses worth $1,025 from the Tanger Outlet store in Riverhead.
The store management on West Main Street promptly reported the incident to the police.
According to reports, the suspects made a hasty getaway on foot, leaving behind the unpaid items.
After conducting a thorough investigation, the detectives successfully identified and apprehended the suspects.
Both Mason and Patrick were taken to the Riverhead Police Department and are now being charged with grand larceny.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Mason had been sought by authorities in New Jersey for previous fraud offenses. As a result, she is now facing an additional charge as a fugitive from justice.
Patrick received an appearance ticket for a future court date upon his release.
