US Marshals Arrest Porch Pirate For Allegedly Running A Vehicle Into A South Jersey Officer

Wagswoofs –  On Monday, December 11, Ebony E. Gomez from Jacksonville, FL, was arrested in Monroe Township and subsequently handed over to the Gloucester Township police.

Gomez had multiple charges against him, including second-degree eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

At around 1:40 p.m. on Friday, December 8, local police reported that Gomez evaded authorities in a white Dodge Journey on Jarvis Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township.

Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop after identifying the vehicle’s involvement in a series of package thefts. The license plate, NJ-F64PSY, was reported stolen. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed juveniles inside who were not wearing seat belts. The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed.

Shortly after, officers spotted the vehicle parked with people inside on Parsons Court. The officer approached the car and instructed the individuals to stop, but Gomez made another attempt to escape by hitting the officer with her vehicle. Additional units arrived at the scene and tried to pursue the vehicle, but the pursuit was swiftly called off due to safety reasons.

The officer was transported to Cooper Hospital to receive medical treatment and is currently in a stable condition.
