Wagswoofs – According to a report by Michael DiRocco of ESPN, Zay Jones, a receiver for the Jaguars, has been arrested on Monday and is now facing a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
Jones is expected to make his initial court appearance on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
In response to the situation, the Jaguars released a statement to ESPN on Monday night. They stated that they are currently gathering information and are aware of the situation. No further comment will be made by the team at this time.
At 6:03 p.m. ET, the Duval County Jail received Jones as he was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The charge against him is domestic battery causing bodily harm, which is a first-degree misdemeanor.
At the age of 28, Jones has participated in merely three games in the current season. He has been absent for six games, including the last four, due to an injury in his right knee.
He has caught the ball five times for a total of 55 yards and managed to score a touchdown.
After spending time with the Bills and Raiders, Jones is now in his second season with the Jaguars.
