Parasite Actor Lee Sun-kyun Found Dead In South Korea, Suicide Suspected

Wagswoofs – South Korean police have reported that Lee Sun-kyun, the acclaimed actor best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” has tragically passed away. The news of his death was confirmed by Yonhap news agency on Wednesday.

Lee, who was born in 1975, was discovered unconscious inside a car next to charcoal briquettes at a park in Seoul, according to a report by Yonhap. The actor’s wife had called the police after finding a suicide note at their home, prompting the search for Lee.

Amid an investigation into his alleged illegal drug use, his death occurred, which is strictly enforced in the Asian nation.

The police questioned Lee multiple times in connection with the investigation. One of the questioning sessions lasted a challenging 19 hours during the weekend.

According to Yonhap, he said that a bar waitress forced him to take drugs and then tried to blackmail him.

In the 2019 thriller “Parasite,” Lee played the father of a rich family.

He also played parts in South Korean movies like “Helpless” (2012) and “All About My Wife” (2014).

In 2021, Lee took on a starring role in Dr. Brain, a sci-fi thriller, which marked Apple TV+’s first Korean-language original series.
