The New York Police Department (NYPD) is currently searching for a 16-year-old mother and her 2-week-old son who have been reported missing since Monday night. The authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to their safe return.
According to authorities, Zariya Bennett and her son Kayden were last seen in their residence located in East New York. Concerned neighbors have already initiated a search for the 16-year-old mother and her child, who reside at 473 Pennsylvania Ave.
Police have described Zariya Bennett as 5’7 tall, weighing around 130 pounds, with a dark complexion.
According to some of Bennett’s past classmates, they were aware that she had recently given birth and have now taken to sharing a photo of her on various social media platforms.
Janiece Neville, a former classmate of Zariya, expressed her admiration for the missing person, describing her as a good person who always offered a helping hand with her work. The two were also good friends. Neville acknowledged the gravity of the situation and emphasized the importance of finding Zariya, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
According to officials, Zairya Bennett was last seen dressed in gray sweatpants.
