Man Charged In Fatal Shooting At East Kansas City Apartment

Wagswoofs –  A man from Kansas City is facing charges for the fatal shooting of another man inside his residence in Kansas City.

Kequan O. Herring has been charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action.

Shortly after midnight on November 28th, the Kansas City police received a call about gunshots in the vicinity of Park Tower Road and Wheeling Avenue.

Upon arrival, the officers were informed that a shooting had taken place within an apartment. Acting swiftly, they entered the premises and discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds, as reported by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD).

EMS pronounced Calvin Boyles, a 45-year-old man, dead at the scene.

Court records reveal that the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) detectives discovered almost twenty shell casings in the vicinity of the apartments. By utilizing witness statements, video footage, and phone records, the detectives were able to establish that Herring was the individual responsible for the shooting incident at the residential area.

Herring is presently being detained at the Jackson County Detention Center.
